NewThinGs..

This time we learn about SYNTOCINON k?

what is SYNtOCiNon?
sytocinon is a synthetic hormone, ala2 klon bg oxytocin...(ciptaan Prof.Klon kot ...hurmm??).

Dia ni we used to induce labor for certain medical reason or labour has not started naturally. Doctor biasa cari dia when...
  1. starting (inducing) labour
  2. stimulating labour when the contractions are considered too weak
  3. preventing or controlling heavy bleeding following delivery of the child (post-partum haemorrhage)
  4. during ceasarian section following delivery of the child
  5. management of certain types of miscarriage

Warning!

  • Syntocinon should not be started if you have been given a vaginal prostaglandin in the previous six hours.
  • The frequency, strength and length of contractions, as well as the baby's heartbeat, will all need to be monitored while you receive this medicine.
  • If high doses of this medicine are needed over a long period of time it may cause too much water to be retained in your body and the concentration of sodium in your blood to drop. Your doctor or midwife will take various measures to avoid this and may restrict the amount of fluid you can drink.

Dia ni has glamour name...certain people do not know syntocinon because people usually called it pitocin..

k lah. i want to stop here..later, we continued back on syntocinon ni..ngantuk daa...
